Fishing Trips

HALF DAY FISHING
This four-hour fishing trip may take you between 3 and 12 miles from shore. In the spring we fish for cod, pollack, haddock and cusk, and other groundfish. Late spring and early summer adds an abundant mix of mackerel -- during peak season thousands can be landed during a four-hour trip. Summer and fall mean bluefish. This eight- to 20-pound fighter can make the most experienced or novice fisherman satisfied. 1 (800) 905-7820

ALL-DAY FISHING - 8½ hours
This trip takes you 12 to 20 miles from shore, with 20 miles being the norm. Cod, pollack, haddock, redfish, wolffish, hake and sandsharks may be caught. On calm days keep your eyes open for surface activity, whales, sharks, tuna and dolphin. 1 (800) 905-7820

2-HOUR NIGHT FISHING
The night trip is a great trip for beginners with an attractive price and the boat rarely more than 2 miles from land. Mackerel, pollack, perch, flounder and other inshore species are caught.

FISHING MARATHON - 12 hours
These trips are scheduled for Monday departures throughout the spring, summer and fall. They give the captain a chance to go farther out than on a regular all-day trip, and give you more fishing time. For early spring and after Labor Day schedules, call 1 (800) 905-7820.

Big fish III

Cod
We target codfish every day on the all-day fishing trips and sometimes for a week or two during the summer on the half-day trips. A legal size codfish (currently 21 inches) is the goal of all our anglers. These fish have been caught as big as 98 pounds (world rod and reel record) but the average size caught aboard our boats is 5 to 15 pounds. We fish for cod from April to November. Cod are caught fishing on the bottom in depths from 100 feet up to 350 feet. Along with the haddock, cod is our most popular and sought after fish.

Haddock
We target haddock every day on our all-day trips and also on some of our half day trips during summer months. A legal size haddock (currently 21 inches) is considered a prize catch by our anglers. A fresh haddock is one of the best fish for eating in the entire world. Haddock can get as large as 18 pounds, but the average size caught aboard our boats is about 4 to 9 pounds. Haddock are caught fishing on the bottom in depths up to 350 feet.

Pollock
Pollock are usually caught along with haddock and cod. They are excellent for eating and must be 19 inches long. The pollock can get as big as 48 pounds, but our average size runs between five and 15 pounds. Pollock also are caught inshore on our half-day trips, but are much smaller than the ones caught on the bottom with haddock and cod.

WOLFISH, CUSK and HAKE
These fish also are caught when we fish on the bottom on our all-day fishing trips. They are very good eating and on some days there are a large number of these fish on the boat, too.

MACKEREL
Mackerel are caught mostly on our half-day trips. From mid-May to October you can catch these fish in tremendous numbers. Peak season for mackerel is from late May to early July. Mackerel only get to be about 3 pounds at their biggest, but fishermen have been known to catch up to 100 in a four hour trip. Taken on light spinning equipment, the mackerel is an excellent scrapper.

BLUEFISH
A seasonal fish that May show up anytime in July and stay until October. The bluefish get as big as 20 pounds and will fight you like no other fish except maybe a stripped bass. The average size caught aboard our boats is 7 to 12 pounds. The bluefish has a strong distinctive flavor when eaten and when you go bluefishing and catch alot your clothes will most likely need to be changed and washed right away due to the bait (whole herring) and your being in contact with bluefish.
